Daily activity:
Thursday: The water temp was 82.4 in the am and topped at 85.1 in the p.m. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the E in the morning at 5-8 mph then swung around to the S at 10-12 MPH by the afternoon. King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bonita, Ladyfish, Mahi and Hardtails were caught. Allen S. got one of the nicer Mahi that was decked. Tyler T, from Georgia, got his first pier King Mackerel.

Friday: The water temp was 84.0 in the a.m. and topped at 84.6 in the p.m. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the S in the morning at 9-11mph and continued S at 12-15 MPH by the afternoon. King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Mahi, Bonita and Hardtails were caught. David E. and George M. were among the many anglers to deck a king. Tyler T. got both Spanish and a Mahi. Jose decked the largest Mahi. Hagen T. landed a nice Bonita. Jake P. hooked and fought a nice Tarpon plus he and wife Mari got five Kings. Cigar Minnows, Alewives and a few Spanish Sardine were available for live bait.



Saturday: The water temp was 84.2 in the a.m. and topped at 86.2 in the p.m. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the S in the morning at 7-10mph and shifted SW at 9-15 MPH by the afternoon. There were King Mackerel, Bonita, Spanish Mackerel, Hardtails, Mahi and a Red Drum decked. There were lots of Cigar Minnows.


Sunday: The water temp 85.1 S 6-12mph – W 4-7mph The water temp was 85.1 in the a.m. and topped at 86.7 in the p.m. The clarity was good. The wind began out of the S in the morning at 6-12 mph then swung around to the W at 4-7 and by the afternoon it had made a complete circle finishing from the SSE at 9-15mph. King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel and Hardtails were caught. Shane’s son, Ranger, even got in on the action. Hunter Z. lost a nice King at the gaff.
Monday: The water temp was 84.4 in the a.m. and topped at 85.6 in the p.m. The clarity was good. The wind began out of the ESE 3-6mph, then SSW 11-13mph, then ENE 9-11 before finishing the afternoon SSW 11-15. There were Mahi, Spanish Mackerel and a couple of Bonita. The biggest Mahi hooked, was bitten in half by a Barracuda. Two King Mackerel were caught at dark about 8:00p.m. Cigar Minnows and Alewives were all around the pier.

Tuesday: The water temp was 85.3 in the a.m. and topped at 87.4 in the p.m. The clarity was good. The wind began out of the S 15-17mph, died in the middle of the day, then S 10-15 to finish the afternoon. There were two King Mackerel, a few Bonita and Mahi in the Morning. The afternoon brought Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish, a few Bonita and a Mahi. Brian, from Tyrone, GA caught the larger King in the Morning and a 7-pound 3-ounce Mahi in the afternoon. Jose, Sam, Austrin and a few other anglers got Bonita. Hardtails were common. Allen hooked several Tarpon and brought one pier side. Available bait was Cigar Minnows, Alewives and a few Spanish Sardine.

Wednesday: The water temp was 86.0 in the a.m. and topped at 87.3 in the p.m. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the S in the morning at 9-15mph and shifted WSW at 9-13 MPH by the afternoon. There were 3 “schoolie” King Mackerel in the morning like the one Rausey is holding. There were also a few Spanish Mackerel, and a couple of Bonita in the morning. The afternoon brought 3 more Kings, a Mahi, several Bonita and a few Spanish Mackerel. Jose, Allen, Sam, Brenda, Kim, Jose and a couple other anglers got Bonita. Allen’s Bonita was 11-pounds. Sam’s and Brenda’s were just over 10 pounds. Jose managed two big Bonita and Two “schoolie” Kings. Brenda finished her day with a “Smoker” King. I had made my last cast and took the Cigar Minnow off my hook and gave it to Brenda. She put it on her hook and made one cast. I literally walked to my cart when Brenda got slammed. After several good runs the 28-pound King was gaffed by Jeffery and decked. Other action included Hardtails all day plus Allen S. briefly hooked a Tarpon. Available bait were Cigar Minnows and Alewives.



Red Tide status: In Northwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was not observed.
